Services - Home Delivered Meals

Eligibility

Five Cities Meals on Wheels provides daily, home-delivered meals to our homebound neighbors who cannot prepare nutritious meals for themselves,  and who do not live with someone who can regularly provide balanced meals.   Those in need include seniors and individuals with disabilities who need our meals to support their health and independence on a long-term basis.  We also service adults with temporary needs such as recuperation from surgery or hospital stay.  Five Cities Meals on Wheels services the areas of Arroyo Grande, Grover Beach, Oceano, Pismo Beach and Shell Beach.  

The following are general guidelines:

• Over the age of 18
  
• Homebound and unable to meet basic nutritional needs,  permanently or temporarily
  
• Does not have the means to obtain daily, nutritious meals
  
• Reside in our service area of the Five Cities

Definition of Homebound:  Unable to leave home without considerable difficulty and assistance.

Definition of Unable to Meet Basic Nutritional Needs:   Unable to prepare or have difficulty preparing at least one daily meal because of physical or medical condition/limitations, or is unable to obtain any food.
